Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a question about the club our registration, please review the questions below to see if we’ve already answered it for you.

If you can’t find the answer to your question below, please contact the appropriate Board Member and we will do our best to get back to you.

What happen if I miss registration?

We regret that we cannot offer online registrations at this time. We encourage parents to attend our registrations evening, but in the event, you are unable to make it, another adult can turn in the registration and pay the fees on the child’s parent/guardian’s behalf, so long as the legal parent/guardian has signed the forms. If there are extenuating circumstances or any questions please contact our registrar at registrar@whitecourtgymnastics.com for more information. Our late registration fee is $50.00 per registrant.

How are the students assigned to classes?

Each class is split into 8 or less children per class (this is the coach per children ratio set by AGF regulations) in the beginning levels and class sizes become smaller as your child gets into higher levels. The classes may be smaller depending on the amount of children registered.

What is the cancellation policy?

Parents may withdraw the gymnast from classes upon notification of the class day and time if they wish to do so. Parent’s must notify the Registrar of Whitecourt Gymnastics Club by email at registrar@whitecourtgymnastics.com prior to the start of the session (first week of classes) to receive a full refund – Registration Fee plus Session Fee. If the request to withdraw occurs after the start of the session, a prorated amount, minus the Registration Fee, will be issued up to the 3rd class.

What are the registration fees?

Registration fees are listed at the top of the REGISTER page.

When do the sessions run?

Each session (Fall, Winter & Spring) is 10 weeks long however there will be make-up days at the end of each session to accommodate statutory holidays and/or classes that need to be re-scheduled.

Fall Session – runs end of September to December

Winter Session – runs beginning of January to the middle of March

Spring Session – runs end of March/start of April to the middle of June

Classes will run on PD days but will not run over Christmas and Easter holidays. Whitecourt Gymnastics Club is closed during July & August.

Who is eligible?

Whitecourt Gymnastics is co-ed for children 3 to 18 years old.

Our head coach is certified to coach special or adaptive needs children. Contact us for more information.

Kindergym Program* – 3 to 5 year olds

Badge Level Cangym Program – 6 year olds & up

Both the Kindergym and Cangym programs are created from AGF and Gymnastics Canada.

* Whitecourt Gymnastics Club requires all Kindergym children to be fully potty trained. Please contact the Parent Liasion by email at parent-liaison@whitecourtgymnastics.com if you have any questions or concerns.

Do I drop off my child for their class or am I required to stay?

We prefer that parents drop off their child at the gym and go away for the 45 or 60 minute class time. This is so the gymnasts concentrate on what they are learning and not watching their parents. The distraction of parents can cause a safety issue for the child.

How do I get my child’s report card?

For the Cangym program each gymnast is tested in the last 3 weeks of the session to evaluate what they have accomplished and if they are going to pass their current badge level. If you go on holidays or your child misses the last three weeks of the session they will not be tested and WILL NOT receive a Report Card.

You can hire the Head Coach to privately test your child, on your time, to receive their Report Card and badge. The cost of the testing session is $100.00/hour..

Will I receive a tax receipt?

Official tax receipts will be given out the first night of classes when you sign your child in. Whitecourt Gymnastics does not mail out receipts for cost saving purposes.

How do I contact Whitecourt Gymnastics?

All communication for the Whitecourt Gymnastics Club is by email. The club is a non-profit organization and there is no ‘main office’. Fees would go up considerably to hire someone to answer phones.
