Rules & Policies

Rules for Gymnasts

  1. NO spectators will be permitted in the building at this time.
  2. Masks must be worn by gymnasts aged 3+ and all persons to enter the building, while in building common areas, and into gym, until physical activities have commenced. Mask are NOT required to be worn by gymnasts while doing physical activities. Coaches will be wearing masks at all times.
  3. The building will be locked until 10 minutes before class and only gymnasts will be admitted into building. 15 minute break between classes for cleaning and to allow pick up/drop off time between classes.
  4. Gymnasts must social distance outside while waiting for admittance into building at all times.
  5. Gymnasts must follow directions of any arrows or signs.
  6. Any gymnasts, coaches, person, or staff that are symptomatic will be sent home immediately and will be isolated until they leave the building. If this happens, the class will be cancelled, gymnasts will be immediately taken to wash their hands and all equipment will be sanitized, parents for all gymnasts will be called for pick-up.
  7. Please use hand sanitizing stations located through out the building and inside our gym.
  8. Gymnasts must always maintain a 2-meter distance while in the gym and building.
  9. Coaches will be wearing a masks at all times.
  10. NO sharing of any personal belongings, of any kind. Ex) food, water, chalk, clothing, etc
  11. Please bring your own labelled water bottle, filled. In-door Fountains are turned off at this time.
  12. No sharing of water bottles will be permitted.
  13. No sharing of any personal belonging.
  14. Higher level classes must bring their own labelled container to house their chalk- no sharing will be allowed.
  15. Please bring all belongings in a bag. Anything left in the gym must be discarded at the end of the night.
  16. No outside footwear permitted in the gym.
  17. Zero tolerance for swearing or offensive language
  18. No front/back flips or running inside the gym unless permitted by coaches.
  19. Please report all injuries

Dress Code for Gymnasts

  1. Please come to class dressed and ready to have fun.
  2. Gymnastics attire defined as body suits, tight-fitted clothing, and tight-fitting athletic wear.
  3. No Jewelry – Earrings must be removed. If they cannot be removed, they must be covered with tape (provided by the parent). Medical bracelets must be taped.
  4. No loose fitting or baggy clothing
  5. No zippers
  6. No clothing with glitter, sparkles or sequins
  7. Plain, clothed headbands are allowed; no plastic or decorated headbands
  8. Long hair must be pulled back
  9. No non-permanent hair products containing colour or glitter (ex. hair chalk or hair sprays) as they can stain our mats and equipment
  • Failure to adhere to these rules will require the Gymnast to sit out the entire class.
  • If gymnasts are not in proper attire they will not participate for that class.
  • Respect all equipment and do not use equipment if a coach is not present. If a gymnast is caught on equipment without a coach, they will be given a warning, if they do it again, they will sit out the remainder of class.
  • Make-up classes will not be held for any missed classes for the above.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Failure to adhere to these rules will require the Gymnast to sit out the entire class.

If gymnasts are not in proper attire they will not participate for that class.

Respect all equipment and do not use equipment if a coach is not present. If a gymnast is caught on equipment without a coach, they will be given a warning, if they do it again, they will sit out the remainder of class.

Make-up classes will not be held for any missed classes for the above.

WHITECOURT GYMNASTICS & COVID-19

Whitecourt Gymnastics will be following the Alberta Gymnastics Federation (AGF) Return To Play Guidelines.

Disclaimer: Guidelines can change at any time due to the ongoing and rapidly evolving nature of COVID-19. Changes may include cautious advancement or reversions based on advice from the Alberta Government, Alberta Health Services and/or Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer.

Documents & Paperwork

No coach, including Head Coach Christina, is allowed to accept paperwork. As employees of Whitecourt Gymnastics Club the coach’s responsibility is to coach the students not take registrations, etc. Also, we do not want any forms left at the Carlan Community Resource Centre front desk.

Any and all papers must be submitted to Board Members ONLY, including Kidsport applications and late registrations. This new policy is in place to try to minimize miscommunications between parties and free up our coaches to do what they do best, teach gymnastics to our kids.

Please be advised that if you choose to submit form(s) to a coach or the Carlan Community Resource Centre front desk, it will not be accepted.

Cheque Writing/NSF Policy

Fees are payable by Cash, Credit Card, Visa Debit or Cheque. Cheques are written to Whitecourt Gymnastics Club.

We now accept instalment payments through Credit Card, Cheque, or Visa Debit. Instalments are divided into THREE payments with pre-set dates, as per our Instalment Payment Agreement.

NSF fee is $65 for cheque or instalment payment program. Should an NSF occur on your account, a demand for FULL payment of the remaining balance plus the NSF fees will be made and the gymnast will not be able to attend classes until the payment is received.

Cancellation Policy

Parents may withdraw the gymnast from classes upon notification of the class day and time if they wish to do so. Parent’s must notify the Registrar of Whitecourt Gymnastics Club by email at registrar@whitecourtgymnastics.com prior to the start of the session (first week of classes) to receive a full refund – Registration Fee plus Session Fee.

If the request to withdraw occurs after the start of the session, a prorated amount, minus the Registration Fee, will be issued up to the 3rd class.
